The project involves the renovation of an apartment on the second and top floor of a historic Venetian building. The intervention enhances the original three- cell structure with a central “portego”, inserting two service cores just in the side wings to restore spatial continuity of the central room.
The custom-made walnut furnishings, together with a system of mirrors, define the living functions and amplify the perception of the wooden structure of the roof. A new mezzanine floor, inspired by the tray ceilings of Venetian palaces, provides access to the roof terrace and re-establishes the dialogue between the interior space and the roof.
